ok another question...if i go into a retail store and their sold out of hte macbook i want...can i pay and have it shipped...i know i can use the online store its just that i cant use a credit card or have access to one....
so would i still get the same discount?

google should probably just give up on this and let amazon be the default music provider for android. I'm sure now that they have their amazon app store, amazon could easily expand that so it's the amazon music and app store for android with their whole cloud player app ecosystem. It's probably better that way anyway since google as company has ADD; they need to just focus on android core features and not get sidetracked trying to be a music/video store also. Google would probably keep an android music store in beta for years anyway. Let amazon fight with the music labels.

I didn't watch the whole video, but from what I watched, they were standing around and laughing.
Again, they should call the cops and NOT get involved.
They are hired to flip burgers, not stop violence. If you want your employees to stop a fight, hire an armed guard.
I hope that if I'm ever being attacked by two people your not the person who I need to rely on, it takes very little time for a person to be seriously injured waiting for the cops is hardly the best option.

I don't read into the results as you might have. This doesn't seem to show manipulation in any of the areas of this photo that are contested and news-worthy. I see an image that has been reproduced and resaved maybe a handful of times before it reached distribution here...
Anyone have any guesses at the extra icons depicted in that folder? The last may be the new facetime, but what of the two before that?
It suggests that the folders have been manipulated, additionally looking at the pixel width and height they are not uniform, suggesting stretching.
Theres also no real reason why it should be a grainy image, even if taken with a camera phone.

I spend at least 98% of my time in AT&T 3G coverage areas. While Verizon's coverage map may look impressive with their sea of red, they seem to be forgetting that dirt can't use 3G.
Yea I haven't been to half (ok 100%) the places were verizon 1-ups Att... Plus verizon turned off all the cell sites in my area so I was forced to leave Big Red!

OMG you people are completely overreacting. Do you know how often cashiers make mistakes such as this? If every store fired every cashier that came up short on their register at least once in their retail career, their would probably no cashiers. It's a common mistake that happens more often than you think and most stores just take it as a lost and go about business as usual. So, unless the cashier is completely incompetent and this incident is a repeat occurrence, I doubt he'll get fired.

Not just for interest though - if Apple do not take a firm presence in the rapidly developing (India, China) countries now, they may well face the same uphill battle against Windows they have been fighting for the past whatever years in the US.
Apple can't really compete in those countries. For Apple to have any sort of real presence there, there would have to be some sort of ~$300 Mac. And even at that price it would be considered expensive in India and China.
In those countries (and corporate sales) it's all about low cost commodity pcs. Apple doesn't do that.
Besides, given Apple's current marketshare, there are plenty of gains to be made just in the US. Apple could easily double it's world share just by focusing on the US.

Well I find it funny that people are actually defending something Apple admitted to being a bug. Intentional or not - Location Services was supposed to be user selectable.
That's no conspiracy theory. It's a simple concept that doesn't need Apple to educate anyone on. Even toddlers grasp the concept of on and off.
I also, personally, don't like being talked down to by Jobs/Apple whenever they have a press conference. The whole angle of "oh.. it's our fault for not educating the consumer" is PR crap and deflection.

I don't understand why everybody wants a Video iPod other than the fact its a new gadget. When I watch movies/DVDs on anything smaller than my 42" plasma I'm underwhelmed by it, hahah. Why would I want to watch it on a 5" LCD?
Unless all of you travel alot and miss your shows all the time I don't see a big need for a video iPod.
I have a 5G iPod and I think I've watched 1 or 2 videos on it ever...

I noticed most of the criticism stems from the changes in iCal and Address Book which are both disgusting. Sadly they havent changed yet

This is something I would expect from Palm or Microsoft. But Apple? I'm amazed by how off the mark this is. :confused:

I have to say this game kicks the crap out of Modern Warfare 2 which felt dull and boring in multiplayer mode. The maps are far more varied than in Modern Warfare 2 and much more interesting. The game modes are pretty good and the best thing about it is the customisation you can do. Plus the new leader boards are good for those of us who are pretty competitive.
Overall I'm much happier with this game than I ever was with Modern Warfare 2 which I only ever played FFA on and people always used to cheat by using Tactical Insertion to sit next to each other and get free kills.

The TV Shows section started out with 5 shows (zero here) and now look at it, there are hundreds of TV Shows for download on iTunes (zero here).
It just takes a few to get it going and once some momentum is established it just keeps picking up speed.

Hm. I hate to say it but I'm preparing to be a little disappointed.
The shading of a button is about the most minor UI change I could think of, compared to the big changes I was expecting. As for the color schema, I thought i'd be glossy black... like imovie, fcp, etc... nice clean, high contrast, classy look, keeps your focus on your content.
But I guess I was expecting some next-generation stuff, like a semi-intelligent contextual version of Finder that'd closer integrate into applications, to put compatible files at your fingertips, & make the OS work with you, instead of be worked by you.
...Integration of cross-OS applications, like auto-syncable iWork, Garageband, iMovie projects, etc... so your content can be worked on seamlessly from one device to another & allow us to focus even more on our content & less on our tools.
an 20 foot voice activated foldable touchscreens and and... i know, i know...

It should work in IE now.
Perhaps a little quick on the draw here but it isn't working for me. The boxes have gone but the actual voting buttons still take me back to the forum index page.
