Samsung = best TVs IMO. Was there that much difference between the Series 5 and 6? I have a 40" LED TV, and aside from the LED, I think the difference in MHz is important.
I definitely agree with you there. They also have a far more superior design. :cool: Series 6 seems to have more features (more ports and settings), higher dynamic contrast ratio, and a higher refresh rate (definitely better for gaming, etc. but I just can't justify the cost when I won't notice the difference most of the time :o)

I'm owner of a Mac Pro (westmere dual CPU) with a REAL GRAPHICS CARD!

After updating the Mac OS X 10.6.7 update
then all my NVIDIA graphics drivers/features went up in smoke!
- Monitor ICC color profile did not work (all to bright/whiteish OSX GUI)
- All webbrowsers tilted in all Flash driven websites,

Comparing the prices of the new iMacs and the Mac mini is absurd. The killer
feature of the mini is its form factor. Wake me up when you can use an iMac
as a file/download server placed in your desk drawer.
Fair enough, but what about those of us who want to buy a general purpose computer? (Probably most people)

I have a huge music collection consisting of 15,648 tracks (and trust me, it's gonna grow). I bought my iPod Classic at the end of 2008. It's a 160GB model and I must say, it's the best portable mp3 player I've ever owned or used in my entire life! As for the person who said the sound quality sucks, I don't know what the hell they're smoking. Maybe they should stop using the default earphones and buy some decent ones, cause the sound quality is perfect!
I don't care about cover flow being a little laggy. With a music collection as large as mine it would be extremely counter-productive to browse through every single album, so I browse through my extensive list of artists instead, THEN chose the artist's album. Or I just stick it on shuffle and let the iPod surprise me.
They shouldn't update it either. Nowadays people are spoiled by every little gadget being packed with so many ridiculous features it's unbelievable. The classic is perfect for what it is, and you shouldn't mess with perfection otherwise you'd screw it up. If they discontinued the Classic they'd be discontinuing a legacy and I for one will not be happy.

Both companies have cult-like followings (Apple and Stern, and let's face it, Stern is Sirius)
Allow Sirius subscribers to get satellite radio on their ipods, maybe even download a limited portion to the HD.
But the killer feature is the ability to BOOKMARK a song you like and buy it from iTunes later or over the air for those who want wireless.
I already have a lifetime Sirius subscription as well as numerous Apple products including an ipod.
PLEASE make it happen and don't let the Zune get this feature first.

Sure iMacs have replaced desktop in a lot of creatives offices, but this might change with the adoption of Grand Central Dispatch and OpenCL by developers. Finally allowing the full use of a Mac Pro by those who need it (like with the next Final Cut X).
What could be cool though would be that Apple allows a little bit of modularity in the iMac...
Besides allowing for the user to upgrade the RAM, SSDs slot(s) could be available in the same opening so the user could add SDD themselves (with the same form factor as MBA's SSD).
That alone would be an amazing upgrade for the iMac, allowing the clients to push back such an expensive upgrade without too much pressure, hell another trap door to give access to the hard drive.

iOS style multitasking features (benefits) are indeed in Lion.
Applications written for Lion can "suspend and resume" without having to "save and close" documents. I think the 24" iMac G5 is the beginning of the end of the G5 iMac.
You are alone on this one - the end of the G5 iMac has already happened, in fact it happened a long time ago when Apple introduced the first Intel iMacs. Hate to break it to ya, but G5 iMacs haven't been around for a long time, nor does a 24" G5 iMac even exist. :p :cool:
As for this new incarnation of the Intel iMac though, it totally depends on Apple's strategy. If they want to leave it as a desktop computer, yeah, it probably doesn't make sense to get much bigger. However, if they want to eventually incorporate a TV tuner and make it even more media-centric, and have it evolve into something else, then this may just be the beginning, not the end. :cool:

Hmm... the Mini still has no Core 2 Duo? That does not sound too promising for MacBook (Pro) updates... unless Apple only wants to use the Core 2 Duo for the high end laptops (MacBook Pro) of course... Or are they waiting untill Leopard has been released?
Core Duo prices will decrease soon (October or so), so Apple will probably have a price decrease then. Additionally, it may wait to put merom in its Macbook lineup, and instead have a price decrease there too...

What confuses you is that most iOS developers have decided to just keep updating their first version forever and not come out with a whole new version because they've decided that makes more sense on a smart phone than it does on a desktop machine.
But that's a business decision, not a technical one. A developer could do it either way on either platform.

umm.. what? My wife and i already watch 99% of anything directly on our iMac G5 20". It looks great, no problem with the size. Of course our apartment is very small :)
as always more is better but less is still pretty good!
