A friend of a friend was told that they should wait until march for that shiny new iPod. Take it for what it is, an unsubstantiated rumor.

Nice. Too bad some kid is going to have $300 docked from his pay...
Nah... they'll probably flat out fire the kid.
But it's cool, because the important thing is that the OP got a great deal on his iPad!
Beware OP, because Karma's a b!tch.

The grain texture on the screen compared to the hand is a sign of photoshop.
However, despite the probable fake picture, it could be a possible product since rumors of it were going around for a year or such. The bigger screen would make sense: borders are wasted space.
I am curious when they will begin to limit the borders on iMacs. That chin has gone on too long.

The main problem with the "slider" idea is that it wasn't intuitive which selection was active (since we're so used to a depressed icon indicating selection). I like the concept of a slider; it reminds me of the old tile games. Perhaps a compromise would have been to have the selected item's text glow, as if a little LED were behind it. That would have made it really clear which item was active.
Exactly what I was talking about. :)

It's streamed to a room with selected journalists, no member of the public will see it until it's posted in full later on by Apple on their website.

And when we will get to OS XI?
Never. OS X is a brand, it's not really an OS version number. If/when Apple eventually ditches OS X or changes it significantly enough, it will have a new name and identity. (Or maybe it will become iOS X. ;) )

I find it highly unnecessary for the TSA to pat down kids, especially, kids younger than 8-9 yrs old.
When was the last time we ever heard of a toddler shoe bomber?
They are horribly inappropriate, one "questionable" TSA lady groped my sister's boobs one flight, as if, last time I checked there are no records of people hiding crap in their boobs.
I understand the intent may be safety, but measure the risk peoples.

Its Music. Music now a days contains some curse words. There were no 5 year olds in that audience. 5 year olds are not going to watch a keynote. Everyone in that audience has heard the word and are mature enough to handle it. Just because he doesn't like Bush doesn't mean he's a bad person. Its his opinion. I have mine too...
His music is fantastic, and seriously who here doesn't have a song in their music library with the f-bomb in it.
Just because you don't like rap doesn't mean you should put him down. In his genre he is up there with the best. And of course apple's heard his songs. its the number one song/album on iTms. Not everyone in apple is 50+ years old and listens to nothing but the Beach Boys and Cher.

No kidding. It's like Columbia Records giving out awards to its most innovative musicians, and all the musicians from Sony Music start complaining that they aren't eligible to receive one.
It's not anyone's "right" to be in the running for any awards. Sheesh.

Why awards at all? An American disease carried into all cultures of the world!
If something or somebody is good, they get the award(s) they deserve: and want most of all:
$$$ in the bank.
And those awards are not based on any committees opinion or mercy Susan Lucci award types for being in something forever!.
It's consumers who buy your stuff because it's good!
And the$e awards never catch dust:-)

I personally find that the "translucent plastic" in Windows 7 looks like it was ripped off from the 90s and a bad Linux window manager. Seriously, it screams "look at me, I'm trying too hard!".
And it's a complete rip-off of KDE 4.x.
So KDE4 is a bad 90s Linux Window Manager?

Any law that tells a physician what they can and can't ask a patient, or who they must treat despite their own personal views - is stupid.

Annoyed by Apple? I'm sure Apple is annoyed by all the people who are saying that Apple doesn't know how to make phones, especially when the problem they're getting flak from is also reproduced on other phones just as easilly, but no other companies are getting **** on by the public and media for also having this issue? Why is it ONLY Apple that gets dumped on?
Because we love Apple and just use Nokia phones, who cares about BlackBerry, except when someone with a patent almost shut them down completely in America. In the end Apple with ONE ONLY PHONE MODEL IS DOING INCREDIBLE, who can say the same?
Iphone 4 is not perfect but it sweet that for sure! :D

I hate to say it, but Windows 7 with their translucent plastic is TEN TIMES more attractive than Mac OSX.

considering that everybody seems to be agreeing with you on the stupidity of this law, your claim of "hypocrisy" seems completely empty
No, we've had similar discussions before regarding a physician's willingness to treat someone due to their own personal religious beliefs, etc. and their response was quite different... the vast majority in that case believed that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT should not allow doctors to ask such questions or refuse to perform procedures they found philosophically reprehensible such as abortions... as if each physician in the country is some sort of robot working at the service of the government no longer allowed to think or reason on their own. But, now that it's about guns, they take a different approach. It's a very distinct hypocrisy.
